I made it in to Incheon International Airport yesterday at around 4pm. Immigration was a breeze. At first I was a bit scared that my recruiter hadn’t gotten my arrival time because it was on such sort notice, but thankfully he did. After a very brief meeting with him, he put me on a shuttle for Suwon. The ride took about an hour and a half.
Helpful tip: If you come to Korea, bring some cash with you to convert at the airport. For some reason, my visa didn’t work at the ATM they had there. Hopefully I’ll find another more accepting ATM in town somewhere.
I got to Suwon and was greeted by my English supervisor who turns out is a super nice man. He took me and his family to a fusion Korean restaurant where we had supper and then he dropped me off a motel for the night. My apartment isn’t until today, so it was just temporary. Right now it’s 7:10am and he’s picking me up in ten minutes to go to the school (excuse me for the brevity of this post). I’m pretty excited to see where I’m going to work for the next year and finally check out my new place.
