This week we’re doing review. Since the students have their tests next week, I’ve been going over chapters 10 to 12 for the last two weeks (so for the last two classes). My second grade classes have “What does ___ look like?” as a conversation example, so I’ve taken to draw a person on the board and get them to describe him. This week I decided to draw a tall fellow with a red beard, red curly hair and blue eyes with glasses. If you know any of my friends, you’ll immediately know who this person is.
I must have mentioned Mike to this class before because as soon as I drew him, the students started saying “Michael! Mike!” Look like he’s a minor celebrity here. If you know know Mike, just imagine my drawing in real life without the hat. I’ve never seen with with a top hat.
The “B EATS ME” thing was for trying to get them to say other things that mean the same as “I don’t know” and “I have no idea”. They weren’t able to figure out my riddle. The answer I was looking for was “Beats me.” There’s a slight possible (or obviously) I didn’t teach this class that sentence…
The other things are the board are pretty self explanatory, I think.
“What’s your favorite sport” “My favorite sport is running” (got them to say that based on the little sunning man)
How Mike asks for the students’ opinion on his new hat: “What do you think of my hat” or “How do you feel about my hat.”
“This is the best hat. EVER!” to which they say “I don’t think so”, “I disagree” or “I don’t agree”
I just hope Mike doesn’t charge likeness fees.
