So you’ve got a family member visiting and you live in Suwon? No problem. Use this guide and you’ll be able to entertain them for about two weeks (I hope!).
Yesterday we took a walk to the E-Mart (a big supermarket) my may area. It’s always fun to check out supermarkets in foreign countries for tourists and I really needed food. It was a win-win situation. After that we went to check out my school and the area where I work. I think that’s a necessity with visiting family member. Gives them a feel for what you’re doing here and it proves that you’re actually doing something. After that, we went to Suwon World Cup Stadium for a look around the grounds. They’ve got some nice statues there and the stadium is pretty impressive. I find it an impressive waste of resources since it pretty much sits unused since the World Cup, but that’s not the point. After some sight seeing we went to a Korean’s friend’s house for supper. She was having a little dinner party and said it was cool for me to bring my QM (Quebec mom). It was fun for me and it gave her the chance to meet my friends. Today we’re visiting Hwaseong fortress in Suwon since museums in Seoul are closed on Mondays. Tomorrow we should begin checking out the big city.
So we have my QM’s luggage back. On Saturday night, at around 11pm, some dude called me telling me that her bags were in and they’d deliver them to me tomorrow. He meant tomorrow in the most litteral sense. He said they’d drop them off at 3am on Sunday morning. Sure enough at 3am, my phone rings and the dude in in front of a local bar waiting for me with the bags. I’m actually really happy they brought them as soon as possible, that way we didn’t have to wait for a couple hours at my place the next day for the delivery.
