When I started this semester, I gave a question and answer period for the new kids to get to know me. Instead of reading and repeating for 45 minutes, they could shout out questions and I’d answer them and joke around with them. It usually makes for a fun class when there is student participation. Without student participation, it’s just awkward and tedious. Here is one of my favorite questions.
Student: Are you rich?
Simon: Yeah, I’m very rich! (class gasps) When I have a runny nose, I use 10 000won (10$ bills) to blow my nose!
Simon: No! I’m joking! I don’t do that! I’m not rich.(class goes ahhhh)
*20 minutes later*
My co-teacher: Simon, this student wants to know if you really blow your nose with 10 000won bills.
