Today in class, we were going over “Sun” and “Son”. For “Sun”, I drew a yellow sphere with triangular protrusions. You know, like the way we draw suns back home. Apparently, the sun is different in Korea. The kids all started to complain that the sun isn’t yellow, but red! Seriously, how ridiculous is that.
Anyway, as the kids were complaining about the colour of my sun, I came super close to saying: “No way, the sun is yellow. Everyone knows Superman gets his powers from the Earth’s yellow sun. If he’s exposed to a red sun, like Krypon’s sun, his powers are negated. Seriously. Drawing a red sun for the Earth doesn’t even make sense!”
Look it up on Wikipedia if you doubt me.
I came so close to saying that, but I decided not to. That’s my justification for the Earth having yellow, not red, sun. I’l continue to draw a yellow sun until my kids accept that they’re wrong and their “logic” doesn’t make sense.
