I just finished class with with good co-teacher. The one that comes to class and understands my instructions.
There’s this one part of class called Situational Dialogue where the kids are presented with dialogue with missing words. I have free-range over what fills in the blanks, so I try to keep it interesting. This week was no different.
2. Your mother is giving you pocket money.
a: I’ll give your brother 10,000won. And I’ll give you 5,000won.
a: But you’re ___________.
For the first blank, I got them to put “That’s not fair!” (something we saw earlier in class). After that, I asked my co-teacher if the students knew what the word adopted meant. She laughed a bit and told me it wasn’t funny and she wasn’t going to help me.
Sometimes I feel like my sense of humour’s not appreciated here.
