As I was taking attendence in my first grade class today, I was told that one of my student was having “magic day”. I had no idea what that meant. They’re usually pretty honest when it comes to telling me where their friends are if they’re not in class, so I figured she went to the circus or something.
Then, the students said that another student had “magic day” so she was at home. Still, I had no idea. The students caught on that I was oblivious to this “magic day” and all started laughing.
“Teacher, you don’t know magic day?”
“No. Maybe, she goes to circus? I don’t know.”
“No! Girl‘s magic day!”
Now I have a better idea what magic day is. And so do you!
UPDATE: Yeah, having your Magic Days means you’re having your period. Apparently, a brand of pads in Korea have the name “Magic” and there was a popular advert for these pads where it said you’d use them on your “magic day”. So there you have it!
